Carma is a funeral doom band founded in 2012 .

history

Carma was founded in 2012 by the Everto Signum musicians Nuno "Igniferum" Cavaleiro, Æminus and Nekruss as a side project. The self-titled debut album was recorded by the band on their own in 2014, mastered in Austria by Stefan Traunmüller from Sternenstaub and Golden Dawn at the Soundtemple Studio in Freilassing and in 2015 via Labyrinth Productions in Portugal, via Aesthetic Death Records in the rest of Europe, and via Nuclear War Now! Productions released in the United States. Carma has been widely recognized as a good funeral doom album influenced by Black Metal and Dark Ambient .

style

Carma's music is considered funeral doom. The group is attested to having influences from Black Metal and Dark Ambient, which are confirmed by the musicians. The band Abyssmal names Sorrow , Nortt and Burzum as influences.

Lyrically, the band focuses on typical funeral doom topics of death, loss, grief and suffering. The songs are performed in Portuguese. The music is predominantly slow and characterized by guitar playing with an emphasis on riffs. The singing is mainly whispered in a guttural style and echoing mixed into the background. The reef-stressed phase alternates with short acoustic and ambient sequences.
