Carmen Gronau , b. Carmen von Wogau (born October 8, 1910 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † 1999 ), was a German-British art historian and art dealer.

She was the daughter of Max von Wogau, owner of a trotting stud, and grew up in a wealthy family. She studied art history in Freiburg, Frankfurt and Göttingen, where she began a dissertation on Ludovico Cardi detto il Cigoli with Georg Vitzthum von Eckstädt at the Georg August University . She did not continue this after marrying the art historian Hans-Dietrich Gronau in 1935 and emigrating to London . When her husband took on a job as an expert for old master paintings at Sotheby’s in 1945 , she supported him. After his death in 1951 she was his successor. She rose to head the old master paintings department at Sotheby's, and in 1960 she became the first woman to become one of the company's nine directors. In 1974 she retired.
