Carmen bin Laden (born Carmen Dufour on November 22, 1947 in Geneva ) is a Swiss writer and former sister-in-law of Osama bin Laden .

biography

Carmen bin Laden was born the daughter of a Swiss (Dufour) and an Iranian (Mirdoth / Sheybani) in Switzerland and grew up there. In 1973 she met Yeslam bin Laden, a half-brother of Osama bin Laden, in Geneva , whom she married in 1974. She later went to Saudi Arabia with her husband and lived in Jeddah . In 1988 she separated from her husband. She has three daughters by Yeslam bin Laden: Wafah (* 1975, singer), Najia (* 1978) and Noor (* 1987), who all live in the West today. She described her experience in Saudi Arabia with the bin Laden family in her 2003 book The Torn Veil ( ISBN 3-426-77768-1 ).
