Carnaval Festival (in German Carnival Festival ) is a ride from the manufacturer Mack Rides in the Dutch theme park Efteling . The gondolas drive past scenes of the carnival festival, which are divided into 15 countries.
The ride was designed by Joop Geesink , who is also known in the Netherlands as the inventor of Loeki de Leeuw (German: Loeki the Lion). It opened in 1984 shortly after the death of his spiritual father.
history
In September 1983 the plan arose to build the first Darkride in Efteling. It was opened on June 1, 1984 by Joop Gesink's widow. In 1998 the entrance had to be relocated due to the construction of the Vogel Rok roller coaster , whereby the waiting rows were covered at the same time. Since 2005 , Loeki the lion has been seen in every scene of the attraction. Since November 2011, a Sinterklaas doll has also been put on the Dutch scene every year during Advent . In 2012, Loeki the lion was again replaced by the attraction's original mascots: Jokie and the jet bird. The attraction was overhauled in 2002 and 2012 for the 50th and 60th anniversary of Efteling.
background
The big, red noses that almost all dolls have at the Carnaval Festival are striking. In the opening year, red noses were handed out to the visitors.
music
The accompanying music was composed by Toon Hermans and performed by Ruud Bos . The attraction has continuous music, with most countries having their own arrangement that should be typical for the respective country.
