Carnophage is a technical / brutal death metal band from Ankara , Turkey , that was formed in 2006.
history
The band was founded in 2006 by Mert Kaya and Bengi Öztürk. Both have often worked together in different bands and projects. Their idea was a controlled, chaotic, and technical form of death metal. A few weeks after founding Carnophage, Onur Özçelik ( Black Omen ), who had previously played with Kaya for a number of years, joined the band and they began to write their own songs. During this process Berkan Basoğlu (guitarist with Solitude) joined the band and took over the post of singer. After a few months, however, it was decided to use two guitars, which Basoğlu lost his position as a singer again and became a guitarist. The use of two guitars promised a more aggressive and complex sound. Oral Akyol finally joined the band as the new singer, who had previously worked for Cidesphere for ten years and was also a singer for the band Burst Appeal . Carnophage was now complete and the Midas'ın Kulaklığı Studios recorded the debut album Deformed Future // Genetic Nightmare . The band signed a contract with Unique Leader Records and released the debut album on August 26, 2008. After that, they gave various concerts, both nationally and internationally. According to Myspace , a new album has been announced for 2011.
style
Carnophage is compared to other death metal bands like Nile , Suffocation and Deeds of Flesh . The fast blast beats , the catchy guitar riffs and the extremely deep growls are particularly characteristic . The technically very demanding solos by guitarist Mert Kaya are also striking.
