Carol Drinkwater (born April 22, 1948 in London ) is a British actress and author .

Life

Drinkwater attended the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She played one of her first roles in 1971 as Nurse Feeley in A Clockwork Orange . Drinkwater became known on the side of Christopher Timothy in the series The Doctor and the Dear Cattle , in which she played the role of Helen Herriot from 1977 to 1985 . She had an affair with Timothy, who was separated but still married, which led to public hostility. Through her role in the Australian series A Handful of Gold (original title Golden pennies , 1985) she met the French film producer Michel Noll, whom she married in 1988 and with whom she lives in Provence .

In addition to her work as an actress, Drinkwater publishes novels and children's books.

Carol Drinkwater is sometimes referred to as the younger sister of actress Ros Drinkwater , but there are no family ties between the two women.
