Carolin Leunig (born March 14, 1991 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld ) is a German biathlete .

Athletic career

Carolin Leunig came to biathlon at a young age through her brother Stefan Leunig , in which she was able to celebrate results among the top ten in the school class. In the youth and junior division, she achieved several top placements at national championships. So she was able to win a championship title at the German championships in the age groups J16 to J18 three years in a row. At the German Junior Championships in 2010 she triumphed in the individual and came second in the sprint. In the 2010/2011 season, she was also able to win the Alpine Cup. Leunig achieved her greatest success at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě . There she was able to win the bronze medal after a good sixth place in the individual with the women's relay alongside Laura Dahlmeier and Birgit Riesle .

Leunig is a member of the B * promotional team of the German Ski Association and is trained by Frank Spengler. In addition to sports training, Leunig is currently training to become a law enforcement officer in Bad Endorf .
