Carreira is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Carreira is part of the Vila Nova de Famalicão district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 2.2 km² and 1667 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Carreira and Bente merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Carreira e Bente . Carreira is the seat of this newly formed community.
