Robert Carroll Nye (born October 4, 1901 in Acron , Ohio , † March 17, 1974 in Hollywood , Los Angeles , California ) was an American film actor.

Life

Nye's mother, Myra, worked for the Los Angeles Times , where Carroll Nye was also temporarily employed. Carroll graduated from the University of California . He had his earliest film appearance in 1925 in Three Wise Crooks . At the beginning of his career he played a few leading roles, but from the 1930s onwards, Nye's appearances were limited to supporting roles.
