Carsick Cars are a Chinese indie rock - band .

history

Carsick Cars was founded in March 2005. Two months later they made their first appearance at Beijing Technical University . Due to further performances in major cities in China , they gained fame in the Beijing music scene.

In 2007 the Carsick Cars played several times in Europe, including at the Steirischer Herbst and in the opening act for Sonic Youth . Her first album Carsick Cars was released in 2007. Her second, You Can Listen, You Can Talk came out in October 2009. Carsick Cars are under contract with Maybe Mars in Beijing and Fly Fast Records in Europe . Fly Fast Records Germany released the album in an extended version with a documentation and video clip. The band is interviewed extensively in the film book and on the expanded version of the documentary Beijing Bubbles .

The band, often singing in English, is often reminiscent of the early Velvet Underground and the guitar-heavy Sonic Youth.
