Life

His parents Ingrid and OF Weidling gave him the nickname Johann Wolfgang because of his birthday with Johann Wolfgang von Goethe .

Weidling worked as a "speaking magician" and stage presenter during the GDR era. After the fall of the Berlin Wall he made a name for himself as a gag writer for the radio presenter duo Böttcher & Fischer and as a coach and presenter on radio and television. With the TV show meeting he went to the direct heir of his father and spent a year as host in the talk show Riverboat of MDR television . More television programs followed. The book author ( Das Großmaul ) lives in Leipzig. In September 2006 the book In the Name of the Father and the Son was published , in which Carsten Weidling publishes the unpublished memoirs of his father, writes about his father and also describes the two paths from father and son to the "cheerful muse" and on television. In 2007, the book Leben in der Werbebreak followed , which sees itself as an ironic "guide" on the television age and biting satire on the monotonous life between various television highlights.

Since the beginning of January 2009 he has been traveling almost exclusively around the world and has given up any permanent residence. On his way, he produced and shot the 12-part series We Are Everywhere for MDR television and in this way was also active as a video journalist for the first time ; In 2011, another 12-part season ran on MDR. From the start, in 2009, he says he has visited 114 countries on all of his travels (as of March 2019). According to press releases, he wants to visit as many countries as possible and write books and make television programs about his travels and experiences. More books about his travels and a stage program were announced in the press. He also wrote about his worldwide poker experiences in the book "111 Reasons to Love Poker" by Udo Gartenbach (Verlag Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf).
