The Carthamus rechingeri is a species of the genus Carthamus in the sunflower family (Asteraceae).

features

Carthamus rechingeri is an annual stem thermophyte that reaches heights of 10 to 50 centimeters. The stem is somewhat pubescent and whitish. The leaves consist of 3 to 4, rarely up to 7 pairs of sections that are 8 to 15 millimeters long and thorny. The cups are small and densely packed. The bracts are only slightly shiny. The scales of the pappus are 4.5 to 5 millimeters long.

The flowering time is in July.

Occurrence

Carthamus rechingeri is endemic to Karpathos . The species grows on limestone rocks and in Phrygana .
