The cartilago corniculata (tip cartilage , squirrel cartilage or Santorini cartilage) is a small cartilage at the tip of the anterior cartilage . It lies in the fold between the cartilage and the epiglottis ( plica aryepiglottica ). The cartilago corniculata consists of elastic cartilage . During laryngoscopy , the tip cartilage is visible as a rounded cusp ( tuberculum corniculatum ) in this fold.
