Cary Glen Adgate (born August 21, 1953 in Lansing , Michigan ) is a retired American alpine ski racer .

Adgate competed in the Alpine Ski World Cup between 1974 and 1980. He achieved numerous results among the top ten, but he never managed to place on the podium. His best result was fourth in a giant slalom in Voss . At the Alpine World Ski Championships in 1974 in St. Moritz , he finished 14th in the giant slalom. Four years later, at the 1978 World Ski Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he improved to ninth place. In addition, Adgate competed at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck in the slalom and took 13th place. In his career he was national champion six times.

After leaving the World Cup circuit, Adgate drove various professional races, won 25 competitions and became US Professional Ski Racer of the Year in 1984 . In 1989 he retired from professional racing.

Adgate was named an ambassador for the Boyne Resort Ski Area in Michigan, where he learned to ski. He was also inducted into the US Ski Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
