Casa Bruno Cuadros

Casa Bruno Cuadros ( Catalan for House Bruno Cuadros, named after its former owner), also known as Casa dels paraigües - House of Umbrellas, is a residential and commercial building in the old town of Barcelona on Boulevard La Rambla (current number 82), the mainly because of its unusual, historic facade design in the Asian style has gained fame.

The architect Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas redesigned the house, which was built in 1858, in the years 1883–1888. As an advertisement for Bruno Cuadros' umbrella business, Vilaseca created the facade decorations from umbrellas and fans as well as murals based on Japanese woodcuts , which are complemented by decorative windows in Asian style.

Particularly noticeable is the wrought-iron Chinese dragon , which is attached to one corner of the house and carries a lantern, umbrella and fan. The facade was restored in 1980 and is considered one of the sights of the Rambla.

Today the building houses a bank branch.
