Casa Venier
Casa Venier is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the Sestiere Castello on the north side of Campo Santa Maria Formosa , between the Palazzi Donà and the Palazzo Vitturi .
history
The palace was built in the 15th century in Venetian Gothic style, but it is not known for its particular architectural relevance, but rather as the home of Doge Sebastiano Venier , a great general who won the Battle of Lepanto in 1571 .
In 1971 a stone plaque was attached to the facade to commemorate the illustrious personality who lived here:
"Questa è la casa di / Sebastiano Venier / vincitore di Lepanto / la Marina Militare Italiana nel IV centenario della battaglia / 7 ottobre 1971 pose" . (Eng .: This is the house of Sebastiano Venier, victor of Lepanto. The Italian Navy, on the 4th centenary of the battle, on October 7, 1971.)

The facade of the small, typically Gothic palace extends over three floors. A unique element of particular value is a quadruple window with three passes on the second floor, the specialty of which is the use of tuff .
The building's ground floor has been converted to accommodate business.
