Caspar Borcholt
Caspar Borcholt (* in Lüneburg ; † September 5, 1599 in Hildesheim ) was Archbishop of Bremen , Episcopal Hildesheim and Princely Lüneburg Council.
Life
He was born the son of the future councilor Statius Borcholt (the elder), who died in 1569, and his wife Hille von der Mühlen. In 1587 he had the imperial house built as the first stone house in the city of Hildesheim.
His brothers were the Chancellor of Verden Heinrich Borcholt (1531–1585), the Mayor of Lüneburg (1578–1594) Georg Borcholt († 1600) and the Rostock professor Johannes Borcholt (1535–1593).

The city of Hildesheim has awarded a Caspar Borcholt Prize for exemplary architecture. The prize is to be awarded for design achievements in the field of building construction, civil engineering, gardening and landscaping or urban planning.
