Caspar von Lingen

Caspar von Lingen (born August 2, 1755 in Bremen ; † January 12, 1837 in Bremen) was a lawyer and Bremen senator / councilor.

biography

Lingen was the son of the eponymous merchant Caspar von Lingen (? –1791) and his wife Catharina Maria.
He was married to the secretary's daughter Gesche Margareta de Haase (1763–1797), who died early; both had four children, including Dr. jur. Carl von Lingen. Second marriage to his cousin Johanna Susanne Wilhelmi (1759–1850); both had two children.

He completed his school days in Bremen, from 1772 at the Illustre grammar school in Bremen . From 1775 he studied law at the University of Göttingen and received his doctorate in Göttingen in 1788. jur.
From 1784 to 1788 he was procurator at the higher court in Bremen and then around 1788/89 he became professor of law at the Illustre high school, but did not take up the office.

From 1789 to 1837 (†) he was the successor to Dr. jur. Christian Hanewinkel (? –1789) Senator from Bremen. In Bremer French period he was from 1811 provisional municipal council (council).
