The Cassard-class (Type F70 AA) is an anti-aircraft destroyer of the French Navy . The hull corresponds to that of the Georges Leygues class , although there are clear differences in the drive and armament. The main task of this class is the air defense unit. In addition, the ships of this class can also be used for sea surveillance.

The experience gained in building this class was incorporated into the design considerations for the La Fayette class .
