The Cassiar Mountains are a mountain range in the central north of the Canadian province of British Columbia and in the south of the Yukon Territory and are part of the Interior Mountains . They lie on the continental divide .

The Cassiar Mountains extend, with an area of ​​71,691 km², over 480 km in north-south direction and 410 km in west-east direction. To the east, the mountains are delimited by the Rocky Mountain Trench , while the Stikine Plateau forms the boundary to the west . The mountain range is bounded to the north by the Liard River and to the south by the Finlay River . The greater part of the mountain range is in British Columbia (82%) and the smaller part in the Yukon (18%). With a height of 2748  m , Thudaka Mountain is the highest mountain in the mountain range.

In the north, the Yukon Highway 1 , as part of the Alaska Highway, crosses the mountain range in an east-west direction. The British Columbia Highway 37 also passes through the northern part of the chain from northeast to southeast.

Settlements can only be found along the highways. With around 300 residents, Dease Lake is the largest of the settlements. Upper Liard with about 170 inhabitants is one of the other larger settlements and is located on the western edge of the chain.

Not all of the parks are located entirely in the Cassiar Mountains. Some of the parks protect areas in the mountain range as well as adjacent areas.
