Castillo de Castrojeriz
The Castillo de Castrojeriz is a castle in Castrojeriz , a municipality in the province of Burgos in the autonomous region of Castile and León ( Spain ), which was built in the Middle Ages . The castle has been a protected architectural monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ) since 1949 .
history
The castle is first mentioned in the 9th century in connection with the battles against the Moors . There is still a Roman part in a square tower that has now almost disappeared. The expansion of the fortifications with walls that were changed in the 9th century dates back to the Visigothic period.
