The Catch Wrestling Association (CWA) was a wrestling promotion based in Austria and Germany that existed between 1973 and 1999.
history
The CWA was the former AWA champion Otto Wanz out and had its headquarters in the Austrian Graz . A little later a German section of the CWA was founded in Bremen , which was run in Wanz 'name by the former wrestler and wrestler Peter William .
The CWA worked closely with other international wrestling promotions such as the New Japan Pro Wrestling and the AWA. To this end, the “Europa Catch Festival” (also known as the “Euro Catch Festival” ) was held in Hanover , Bremen and Graz .
The CWA served many later top stars from other leagues as a career springboard. For example, Owen Hart , Chris Benoit , John Layfield , Paul Roma , Ulf Herman and "Cowboy" Bob Orton were committed to the CWA.
After the doctorate was closed, the Austrian-based section began organizing various weight training events .
