Peter William

Peter William Koch (born September 13, 1930 in Berlin ; † December 11, 2018 in Lienz , Tyrol ), better known as Peter William , was a German wrestler , wrestling promoter and wrestling commentator . Among other things, he was a co-owner of the CWA .

Life

Koch worked for a long time as a promoter of the German CWA section and organized, among other things, catch events at the Vienna Heumarkt . In addition, he was also active as a wrestler and referee , as he confirmed in several interviews. Koch became a broader audience as a commentator on the wrestling show Catch Up ( RTL , 1989-91) and the German-language broadcasts of the EWF ( Eurosport , 1991-92), the WCW ( DSF , 1993-96) and various smaller wrestling leagues such as SMW or WCICW ( DSF Action and Premiere Sport , 1997-2002) known. In his commentary role, he repeatedly pointed out his expertise, as he had once been actively involved in the ring.

Aside from his work in the wrestling business, Koch has acted as a stuntman in around 30 films , including for Curd Jürgens . He also played a supporting role in the Edgar Wallace film The Dog from Blackwood Castle (1967).

Until his death, Koch lived with his family in Lienz in East Tyrol . His brother was the former CWA ring announcer Manfred Koch (1940-2001).
