Catherine Demanet

Catherine Demanet , born Catherine Anne Thérèse Marquand (born March 21, 1943 in Paris , † June 17, 2012 in Cébazat , Puy-de-Dôme Department ) was a French actress .

Career

She grew up in Paris as the daughter of a surgeon. During her acting training at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique she played the role of Geneviève ("Ginou") in the 115-part mini-television series Le Temps des copains , directed by Robert Guez, from 1961 under the stage name Catherine Demanet . In early 1962 she met Claude Giraud at the Conservatoire , who returned there after completing his military service to complete his acting training. They married that same year. Catherine completed her acting training in 1964 and dedicated herself to her two children, Louis (* 1963) and Marianne Giraud-Martinez (* 1966), who also trained as an actor at the Conservatoire and is married to the French actor and director Jean Martinez .

Catherine Marquand and her husband Claude Giraud moved to Saint-Priest-des-Champs in the Puy-de-Dôme department in 1987 , where they bred Connemara ponies at the Haras du Boissis stud .

She died in Cébazat in 2012 and was buried in the communal cemetery in Saint-Priest-des-Champs.
