The Cavalier rock is an isolated rocky island south of Adelaide Island and west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 21 km southwest of Cape Adriasola .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1963 after Lieutenant Geoffrey Alan Cavalier (* 1941) of the Royal Navy , helicopter pilot for reconnaissance flights from the HMS Protector in the area.
