Cape Adriasola is a prominent, ice-cliff cape at the southwestern end of Adelaide Island , 16 km northwest of Avian Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula .
It was discovered during the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910). Its director, the French polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot , named it after a Chilean friend named J. Adriasola from Punta Arenas .
