Cave Island (from English cave 'cave' ) is a small island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is the second largest of the Meade Islands and is located in the northern entrance to McFarlane Strait between Livingston Island and Greenwich Island .
A special and eponymous feature of this island is a large cave on the south coast. The name was given by scientists from the British Discovery Investigations in the course of surveys in 1935.
