The McFarlane Strait is a strait between the Livingston Island and Greenwich Iceland in Archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . Your entrance in the northwest is between Williams Point and Duff Point , the one in the southeast between Renier Point and Ephraim Bluff .
The name of this waterway appears for the first time in 1822 on a map of the British sealer captain George Powell (1794-1824). It is named after the Glasgow captain Andrew McFarlane (1780 - unknown), who, like Powell, is one of the early seal hunters in the waters around the South Shetland Islands.
