Cayucos is a town in San Luis Obispo County in California ( USA ). It is located on the coast near US Highway 101 and has a population of around 3,000.
The village emerged from a Spanish country estate founded in 1842 with the name Rancho Moro y Cayucos . In 1867, James Cass began building a settlement in the area. In 1871 a port facility was built, in 1875 the village was declared a city.
