Celestino Gelsi

Celestino Gelsi (born July 31, 1918 in San Miguel de Tucumán , † March 8, 1990 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine politician who was governor of the Tucumán province from 1958 to 1962, during the government of Arturo Frondizi .

He was the son of Ilde de Gelsi and Humberto Gelsi.

Career

He graduated in law at the National University of Cordoba from. He was a member of the parliament of the Tucumán Province for three legislative terms from 1946 to 1955 . In 1949 he was a member of the Constituent Assembly of the Tucumán Province. From January 30, 1964 to April 30, 1969 he was a senator in the Senado de la Nación Argentina . He was a member of the Unión Cívica Radical and was party delegate for the province of Tucurnán at the National Convention that was held in Santa Fe in 1957 .

In Gaby Weber's film "Onkel Arturo and the Mossad" , he was assigned a role during the arrest of Adolf Eichmann on May 11, 1960 on the city motorway (Puente Saavedra). The El Cadillal dam is named after him.
