Celestino Morales (born September 13, 1959 in Aguascalientes ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper .

career

Morales began his professional career in the 1977/78 season with the club Atlas Guadalajara, which is based in Mexico's second largest city, Guadalajara, and soon moved to city ​​rivals Chivas , where he initially worked for the Tapatío branch team .

In his 18-year career, Morales has guarded the goal in more than 200 games in the Mexican Primera División for a total of six clubs, including Tecos UAG, also based in Guadalajara . He spent most of his career with Chivas, where he never became a goalkeeper. Nevertheless, he experienced here in the 1986/87 season, completing only four appearances, his greatest sporting success with winning the Mexican football championship .

His personally most successful season was 1984/85 when he was a goalkeeper at Puebla FC and showed such great performances that he made three appearances for the Mexican national team during this time . He made his debut on October 17, 1984 against the USA (2: 1) and then guarded the goal twice in February 1985 against Switzerland (1: 2) and Finland (2: 1).
