The Cemetery Lake ( English for Friedhofsee is) an approximately 650 m long and 400 m lake on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . In the Vestfold Mountains , it is on the north side of the Mule Peninsula .

Scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions carried out geological and biological surveys here between January and February 1972. They found mummified on the west bank and overlaid by sand or gravel carcasses of elephant seals , Weddell seals , giant petrels and skuas , which gave the lake its name.
