The Centipede Nunatak is a narrow and 500 m long nunatak on the Antarctic Ross Island . It rises 1.3 km north-northwest of Ford Rock in the center of the Hut Point Peninsula .
It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in 2000. It is named after the nunatak segmenting snow bands, which give it a resemblance to a millipede ( English centipede ).
