Cepheus is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon . It is south of Atlas , southwest of Oersted and northwest of Franklin . Its wall is terraced and moderately eroded, in the northeast it is overlaid by the secondary crater Cepheus A. The interior has a central mountain.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the mythical King Cepheus .
