Ceram Prize

The Ceram Prize is a prize sponsored by the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn for archaeological non-fiction books . It is named after the non-fiction author C. W. Ceram , who wrote Gods, Graves and Scholars with his book . Roman der Archeologie had brought archeology to a wide public. The prize is awarded at irregular intervals of several years and is endowed with 5000 euros.

The excellent book should appeal to both scholars and laypeople. In addition to encyclopedias, illustrated books or catalogs, archaeological non-fiction books that have appeared in German (including translations) for the first time in the last five years and are still available are eligible for selection . There are no spatial or temporal restrictions on the subject of the book, only the knowledge presented should have been obtained mainly using archaeological methods.
