Cereus tacuaralensis is a species of plant in the genus Cereus from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Cereus tacuaralensis grows tree-shaped, has few branches and reaches heights of up to 5 meters. The cylindrical, segmented shoots have a diameter of up to 12 centimeters. There are four sharp-edged ribs that are 4 to 5 centimeters high. The round, gray areoles on it are far apart. The awkward thorns emerging from them are light brown. The two downward central spines are 3 to 6 inches long. The four radial spines are 1.5 to 3 inches long.

The white flowers are 8 to 10 inches long. Your bracts have reddish tips. The up to 8 centimeters long, egg-shaped fruits are dark purple in color. They contain a white pulp .

Distribution and systematics

Cereus tacuaralensis is distributed in the Bolivian department of Santa Cruz in the province of Chiquitos at altitudes of 100 to 500 meters. The first description was published in 1964 by Martín Cárdenas .
