features

In Ceropegia ampliata is perennial Sprosssukkulenten with up to 2 m long, creeping or weak winding, little branched stems. They measure about 4 to 5 mm in diameter, are finely grooved lengthways with a rough surface. The fleshy roots are spindle-shaped and arranged in tufts. The lanceolate leaves fall off easily, they measure 5 to 10 × 2 to 3 cm. The sessile inflorescence is 1 to 4-flowered; several flowers can be open at the same time. The flower stalks are between 0.5 and 2 cm long. The sepals are pointed triangular and approx. 3 mm long. The petals are whitish or greenish-white and green longitudinally striped. The flower is up to 7 inches long. The spherical crown cauldron is swollen and measures 1.5 to 2.5 × 2 to 3 cm. Occasionally it is slightly dented on the side. The funnel-shaped, inside hairy corolla tube has a diameter of 12 to 15 mm. It has a ring-shaped red band on the inside at the beginning of the tube. The corolla lobes are narrow triangular to linear and fused at the tips. They are green or yellow-green inside. The free edges are more or less bent outwards. The seated secondary crown is flat, bowl-shaped and colored white. It measures 8 to 10 × 6 to 7 mm. The interstaminal corolla lobes are divided into two and deeply incised. They have triangular appendages pointing towards the staminal corona and measuring 0.7 to 15 mm. They are more or less covered with fine hairs on the inside. The staminal side crown is thread-like with thickened bases. The threads stand upright and lean towards each other. They measure 4 to 7 × 0.2 mm. The pollinia are narrow-egg-shaped and measure 0.5 to 0.6 × 0.3 mm.
