Cerys Elizabeth Matthews (born April 11, 1969 in Cardiff ) is a British singer and songwriter , best known as the singer of the band Catatonia .

life and career

Matthews was born in Cardiff and grew up in Swansea and Pembrokeshire . She later moved back to Cardiff, where she met Mark Roberts and formed the band Catatonia with him in 1992. Together with Tom Jones she recorded the song Baby, It's Cold Outside for his album Reload . After the band broke up in 2001, they moved to Nashville , Tennessee and recorded their debut solo album Cockahoop there.

In 2007 she participated in the seventh season of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! part.
