Cesar Zuiderwijk (born Cornelis Johannes Zuiderwijk ; born July 18, 1948 in The Hague, Netherlands ) is a Dutch drummer . He is best known as a long-time member of the Dutch rock band Golden Earring , which had a world hit in 1973 with Radar Love .

Career

Zuiderwijk started playing guitar at the age of twelve, but then switched to drums after two years. As a drummer, he played in various groups, such as in his school band "René & His Alligators", "Hu & The Hilltops" and "Livin 'Blues".

In 1970 he finally succeeded Sieb Warner as the drummer for Golden Earring. Since then, the band has played in the same line-up, where they had their greatest successes. Radar Love (1973) was one of their first singles released in the USA and became a worldwide hit (US 13th, GB 7th, D 5th, E 1st) Zuiderwijk is known for performing a brilliant drum solo on every performance.

Solo projects

In September 1992 Zuiderwijk played with 1,000 other drummers "Radar Love" live in the port of Rotterdam with the support of the Dutch music teacher Luc van der Vloet and thus received an entry in the Guinness Book of Records .

In 2000 he went on tour with “Percossa Percussion” when Golden Earring took a year off.
