Chãs de Tavares is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Mangualde . The community had 1051 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Chãs de Tavares, Várzea de Tavares and Travanca de Tavares were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Tavares (Chãs, Várzea e Travanca) . Chãs de Tavares is the seat of this newly formed municipality.
