Cha Myong-jin (born August 14, 1959 in Seoul ) is a conservative South Korean politician who was a member of the National Assembly for Bucheon from 2006 to 2012 .
Two days before the parliamentary elections in South Korea in 2020 , Cha was expelled from the Mirae-tonghap party for having made derogatory comments about families victims of the Sewol disaster.
Cha had previously attracted negative attention due to his defamatory rhetoric. In October 2011, he called Park Won-soon , the only opposition candidate for mayor of Seoul, an "extreme socialist who would support pro-North Korean forces." He described President Moon Jae-in as a “communist bastard”.
