history
The name Chadwell, which ultimately gave the district its name, goes back to a document dating back to 1254. Chadwell was a small, insignificant settlement at the time. In the 17th century the place was named Chadwell Heath. Over the years, mainly due to the rapid population growth of London , Chadwell Heath moved closer and closer to the city. During the reorganization of the British administrative districts, the place became part of Greater London in 1965, after it was administratively part of Essex County .
