Chai Romruen

Chai Romruen (* 8. February 1989 in Ko Samui , Thailand as Surachai Romruen ), also known as Chai Hansen , is an Australian actor .

Life

Chai Romruen was born in February 1989 in Ko Samui , the son of Superut Romruen from Thailand and Sandra Hansen from Australia . At the age of seven, he immigrated to Australia with his mother and sister . He discovered his passion for the triple jump and won several medals. In 2007 he met the dancer Travers Ross, who discovered his potential and passion for dance. Ross became his mentor. After three years of training, Romruen received a scholarship to the Davidia Lind Dance Center . After graduating in 2011, he was hired for the street show Beat The Streets .

He made his acting debut in the feature film Dead Moon Circus in the role of Sean McComb in 2012 . He was also seen in its sequel Dead Moon Circus 2 in 2013. In the spin-off of H ₂ O Suddenly Mermaid , Mako - Simply Mermaid , he played the main male role of the merman Zac Blakely from 2013 to 2016 .

Romruen has also appeared in various music videos and commercials.

For better international marketing, he changed his last name from Romruen to Hansen. He landed a supporting role as Ilian on the third season of The CW television series The 100 . In early 2018, he was the monkey king in the Australian miniseries Journey to the West . In the same year he took on the supporting role of Jordan Kyle in the fantasy series Shadowhunters .
