Chalel Dosmuchamedow ( Kazakh Халел Досмұхамедов , Russian Халел Досмухамедович Досмухамедов Chalel Dosmuchamedowitsch Dosmuchamedow * 24. April 1883 in the Ural Oblast, Russian Empire ; † 19th August 1939 in Alma-Ata , Kazakh SSR ) was a Kazakh doctor and politician of the Alash Orda .

Life

Dosmukhamedov was born in a village in the Urals Oblast in 1883. He graduated from a military school and from 1903 attended the Military Medical Academy in Saint Petersburg. After graduating from the Academy in 1909, he served as a military doctor first in the Perm region and later in Turkestan Oblast and Ural Oblast. In 1913 he was released from military service. He then worked as a doctor in the Temir district near Aktyubinsk . From that time on he began to publish articles in Qazaq magazine .

At the first All-Kyrgyz Congress from July 21 to 28, 1917, Dosmukhamedov, who was its chairman, was appointed a member of the Russian Constituent Assembly . In December 1917, he was vice chairman of the second All-Kyrgyz Congress, where he voted for the immediate proclamation of the autonomy of the Alash Orda , the Kyrgyz autonomy in Central Asia . At the end of the year he became a member of the government of the Alash Orda. In March 1918 Dosmukhamedov and Shahansha Dosmukhamedov took part in negotiations with Lenin and Stalin on the future of the Kyrgyz autonomy. From 1920 he worked in Tashkent , first as a member and then as chairman of the Education Commission of the Public Education Committee of the ASSR Turkestan . Between 1922 and 1924 he was a senior member of the Turkestan's Public Health Commission. At the same time he was also a board member of the Central Asian state publisher Woskirgossisdata and editor-in-chief of a Kazakh-language specialist magazine. In 1925 and 1926 he headed a branch of the Kazakh state publishing house Kasgossizdata and was then a managing director of Kyrgyzstan. From March 1927 Dosmukhamedov was first chairman and then a member of the Commission for the Organization of the Kazakh State University . From June 1929 he was a professor at the university and between 1929 and 1930 deputy rector of the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute.

He was arrested for the first time on September 15, 1930. He spent 19 months in prison and was then exiled to Voronezh for five years . There he first worked at the Institute for Health and Hygiene of the regional health department and from 1934 worked again as a doctor. On July 26, 1938, he was arrested a second time and taken to Alma-Ata , where he was sentenced to death on April 24, 1939. He died on August 19 in a prison hospital in Alma-Ata of complications from pulmonary tuberculosis .

On February 11, 1958, he was posthumously rehabilitated.
