Chameleon is a song by the Maltese singer Michela Pace . The song was released on March 10, 2019 and is the Maltese entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 .

Music and lyrics

The song has been described as a "peppy R'n'B pop song with an oriental touch". The lyrics describe the various characteristics of the protagonist in a relationship: "Give me water I'm a swimmer / Give me fire I'm a fighter / Give me love I'm your lover / Make me cry I'll be a river / Take my heart I'll be a giver / I can change like the weather ".

After the singer Michela Pace won the first Maltese version of The X Factor , X Factor Malta 2019 , which replaced a previous qualifying format, she was chosen to represent Malta for the Eurovision Song Contest . The song Chameleon , written by Joacim Persson, Paula Winger, Borislav Milanov and Johan Alkenäs, was selected internally some time later and then published on the official channel of the Eurovision Song Contest, including a music video. The song or video currently has over 10 million views and is one of the most watched videos at this year's ESC.

The song was assigned to the second semifinals of the ESC on May 16, 2019; there it reached eighth place with 157 points. In the final, it finished 14th with 107 points.
