Champ de Mars is a decommissioned station of the Paris Métro under Place Joffre on the southernmost corner of the green corridor in the 7th arrondissement, also known as Champ de Mars . It is located between the La Motte-Picquet - Grenelle and École Militaire stations on line 8 . The station opened on July 13, 1913 and closed on September 2, 1939.
The closure was caused by France's entry into World War II and the associated mobilization of the workers of the Compagnie du chemin de fer métropolitain de Paris . As with the metro stations Arsenal (line 5), Croix-Rouge (line 10) and Saint-Martin (lines 8 and 9), which were closed on the same day , they saw a reopening in favor of the later because of the short distance to the neighboring stations reduced travel time .

The station had two entrances on either side of Place Joffre. The staircase on the Champ de Mars side is still there, the south-eastern entrance in front of the École militaire was converted into a ventilation shaft.
From the small, approximately H-shaped intermediate level , the two stairs to the side platforms go to the northeast and the stairs to the surface of the earth go to the southwest. The connecting corridor in between is approximately at right angles above the tunnel of line 8, which follows the course of Place Joffre from northeast to southwest.
To the south of the station there is a storage track and a connecting track from line 8 to line 10 in the direction of Auteuil and Boulogne . Before the extension to Balard in 1937, line 8 used this branch regularly and ended on the other side of the Seine in the Auteuil block loop.
