biography

Khamsat Jabrailov was born on April 7, 1956 in the Kyrgyz SSR. He started actively boxing at the age of 13 with his school teacher Hussein Mudayev in Argun . In 1975 he continued his athletic training at the Grozny Oil Institute , under the direction of Grigory Vartanova, a master of sports of the USSR . His first big success in the ring he had in 1978 when he won a middleweight title in an international tournament in Alma-Ata and then completed the championship of the RSFSR in Ordzhonikidze . A year later he won the Soviet championship in Moscow , was the winner of the Soviet Peoples ' Games , and also won the world championship against the competition in New York - and thus became a master of international sport.

In 1980, Jabrailov won the USSR championship with silver, moved to the second intermediate class in 1981 and achieved a bronze medal. In 1982 he won the international tournament in Bulgaria against the famous Cuban Olympic champion José Gómez Mustelier with 5–0. The Bulgarian boxing fans applauded him.

In preparation for the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 , Jabrailov initially failed to qualify for the Soviet Olympic team in the weight class up to 71 kg. However, after a six-round qualifying competition, he beat his rival Alexander Koschkin . The head coach of the Soviet national team A. Kiselew told him after this fight: "Well, all right, Chamsat, you are in the team." Jabrailov could not hide his tears afterwards. But in the end the “Muscovite” Koschkin was only accepted into the team. The trainer Kiselev is said to have been put under pressure from the state authorities in Moscow. During these years, including shortly before the 1979 European Championship in Cologne , Chamsat felt treated unfairly. After a convincing victory over Viktor Grigoryevich Savchenko even with a difficult knockout, he was accepted into the team and got a passport with a German visa, but at the last moment he was "disconnected" from the team. At the age of 26, Dschabrailow initially retired from boxing. However, due to his sporting successes and excellent results, he did not stop there. He blamed the sport officials' intrigues about his person and ethnicity for the interruptions and difficulties. Chamsat was reactivated several times as a boxer and also called back to the Soviet national team. After retiring from active boxing, Dschabrailow continued to work as a coach and trained several successful athletes.

His students included professional boxing I. and H. Arsangaliev Ustarchanov - winner of the world championship, V. Magomadov - professional boxing of the USSR - champion; A. Murtazalijev, A. and I. Halidov Dudayev - winners of the European championship; Yu Dzhamaldaev - Champion of Russia, A. Amaev - Russian runner-up, Timur and Ruslan Khalidov - winners of the World Cup in Moscow and the Russian Armed Forces. In 1993 he was first honored as a coach in Russia, in 2004 he was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sport . Khamsat Vadudowitsch Jabrailov achieved great recognition in the history of Chechen sport as a coach and as an athlete, which few achieved. He died of lung cancer in Grozny on February 19, 2013 and was buried in his home village of Kurchaloj.
