Chaos Computer Club Switzerland
The CCC-CH was originally founded on August 8, 1985 as an association in accordance with Art. 60 ff. ZGB with its headquarters in Basel , but its activities were discontinued in the early 1990s . On December 15, 2012, the Chaos Computer Club Switzerland was re-established as CCC-CH in Bern.
Chaos Computer Club Switzerland (1985)
purpose
The aim of the association was to promote computer-aided communication in regional, national and international areas. The aim was to make the new communication technologies known and accessible to a wide audience, with the aim of counteracting the further commercialization of the media. The CCC CH paid attention to the social effects of these media and wanted to recognize tendencies and critically assess them by gathering experience at an early stage.
activity
The CCC CH operated a mailbox under the name C-Net as a platform for the exchange of experiences via remote transmission with telephone and modem . When the mailbox was launched in 1985, the speed was 300 baud using the S21-23D Dataphon; it was later increased to 1200 baud with a PTT modem. The mailbox was operated on a portable Televideo computer with CP / M operating system.
The Clubinfo BUE OE (can opener) special was published in August 1985, the first and only regular edition in December 1985.
environment
The founding of the CCC CH coincides with the political efforts to make Basel a "media city". Markus Kutter in particular drove this project, which also enjoyed governmental support. The CCC CH was included in the corresponding "New Media Association", but could not gain any influence.
Actions
- A user account of a Basel pharmaceutical company was hacked to recruit members and the sysop's phone number was published in it.
- Under the motto "If you don't know anything, you have to believe everything", the CCC CH placed a panel at Swissdata 1986 with nonsensical computer terms such as "Nanomemory", "Triplesided" and "Humancompatible". During the entire duration of the exhibition, the poster was not recognized as a parody and was left standing.
Chaos Computer Club Switzerland (2012)
With a symbolic act on the Bundesplatz in Bern, around 40 delegates from various local chaos meetings in Switzerland founded the umbrella organization “Chaos Computer Club Switzerland”. In addition to the Chaos Computer Club Zurich and the Chaostreffs in Basel, Bern and St. Gallen, the Freiburg Hackerspace was also one of the founding members of the new association. The Chaostreff Winterthur had observer status when it was founded and has since become a member.
The new CCC Switzerland is part of the digital society .
purpose
The aim of the association is to improve cooperation between the various local groups in Switzerland. As a national umbrella organization, the association can appear with more weight in consultations and press releases in order to represent the interests of its members. Another goal is technical and scientific education.
activity
The CCC Switzerland organizes the CoSin , the annual meeting of the hacker scene in Switzerland.
With the Schlachthaus-Theater in Bern and the Teatr Polski in Bydgoszcz , the CCC Switzerland has a cooperation through the Chaostreff Winterthur. This cooperation resulted in the trilingual theater project AGAINST , which is played in Switzerland and Poland .
CCC Switzerland carries out various projects in the field of security technology. For example, the Chaostreff Winterthur analyzed AusweisApp of West German nPA
