history

The band Chaplin was founded by Dominic Hoffmann. He started making music solo with guitar, from the beginning under this name. After several changes of residence (but now in Berlin for more than 10 years), combined with fellow musicians joining and leaving, Chaplin found the current line-up around 2015: Dominic Hoffmann (vocals, guitar), Mike Knorpp (guitar), Kristof Pajonk (Bass) and Jens Baumann (drums). As influences are Bob Dylan , Element of Crime or Tom Waits evident in the written by Dominic Hoffmann songs.

The album If Nobody Wakes Us Tomorrow was recorded in October and December 2016 in the Candy Bomber Studios in Berlin-Tempelhof. The second album was produced by Jakob Ilja from the band Element of Crime . It brought the band a nomination for the German Record Critics' Award .

In spring 2017 the band was on the road as support for the Swede Christian Kjellvander and the songwriter Patrick Richardt .
