Charalampos Angourakis

Charalampos (Babis) Angourakis (Greek: Μπάμπης Αγγουράκης , born January 19, 1951 in Bucharest ; † May 12, 2014 ) was a Greek politician of the KKE .

Life

Angourakis obtained a diploma for information processing at the Technical University of Dresden in 1973 and also did a doctorate in this subject. During this time, the trained engineer also worked as an employee at the TU Dresden. From 1975 he was a member of the Central Council of Communist Youth in Greece for ten years, and in 1985 he moved to the Central Committee of the KKE. From 1997 to 2000 he was a member of the Greek Parliament , in which he represented the first constituency of Athens . During this period he was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe . On October 21, 2009 he moved to the European Parliament for the resigned Athanasios Pafilis .
